Sony’s Mylo is back as Com2 at CES 2008
Remember Mylo Com1? Well, forget it, because it is back but in a brand new improved avatar. Sony has indeed announced the follow up and Mylo Com2 shall be shipped as early as end of January, retailing for $300. Original Mylo was all about making fun stuff of PC minus all the hassles involved. Mylo Com2 builds on the trend and indeed on the one thing that defined its predecessor, the Wi-Fi. Available in black or white, Com2 flaunts a 3.5-inch 800 X 480 touch-screen display.
Here are some of the main specs:
• 1.3Mpix Camera
• 1GB of internal memory (enhanced via a memory stick duo up to 8 GB)
• Support Mpeg-4, WMA, MP3, AAC, ATRAC files
• Flash based video
• Improved web experience with direct downloads
• AIM, GTalk, Yahoo! Messenger and Skype for communication
• Greater customization
• Online A/V services like Google Video, YouTube or MySpace
Obviously, this is a bigger (literally) and badder (metaphorically) version of Com1. There is also some gaming ability with Sudoku and Solitaire available for free downloading. With a battery life of up to 20 hrs, this gadget is bound to do some good. Included with the hand-held is a microphone, stereo headphones, USB cable, a stylus and neoprene case. And there’s a promise of accessories to be launched later.
