The space diamond has been christened Lucy in a tribute to the Beatles song ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.’ The precious stone is floating in space at a distance of 50 light years away, in the Constellation Centaurus. Lucy, also called BPM 37093, is in fact a crystallized white dwarf. It is being believed that the diamond is the heart of a dead star that used to shine like the Sun. Unfortunately, nobody will be able to lay his/her hands on the biggest ever diamond found floating in space.
