After watching French performance artist and musician Jean Michael Jarre use a Laser Harp more than 22 years ago, Stephen Hobley knew he had to have one of his own. Decades in the making, Hobley has announced that he has finally worked out all of the bugs for his DIY Laser Harp, and claims that anyone can make one themselves if they’re willing to spend the $600 in supplies, including Hobley’s own Laser Harp plans and source code for $19. The Frameless Laser Harp itself is a creation of beauty, merging performance art, visual showmanship, and a mind for electronic music. Take the jump to see a video of the Laser Harp in action.
